On 30 May, Stefan Eriksson, Director of the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Latvia, visited the LSM+ studio for a full-length interview with Aleksejs Dunda.
In the interview, S. Eriksson reflects on his eight years of work in Latvia. He also discusses the growing importance of the office in recent years, not only in bringing Latvia closer to the Nordic countries, but also in strengthening our shared democratic values. The conversation highlighted several of the office’s most successful projects – among them, the opening of a regional office in Daugavpils four years ago and various democracy-strengthening initiatives in collaboration with the DOTS Foundation for an Open Society and other partners.
Director also explained why it is crucial to ensure access to reliable information in the languages of Latvia’s minority communities. This conviction is the justifying pillar of the decision by the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Latvia to financially support LSM+ editorial unit in the Ukrainian and Belarusian language.
Video recording of the interview is available here (in Russian).
